A Cure for Boredom

Yesterday I experienced something I haven't experienced in a very, very long time. Boredom. Absolute boredom. The weather was cool and gloomy. I felt uninspired. I tried gardening but the black flies (or whatever those little pesky bugs are) drove me inside. I couldn't think of anything I wanted to do or anywhere I wanted to go. Usually I love to read but not yesterday. Oh, I was in such a rut! Then I thought, what I'd really love is to be read to. Now, my kids read to me all the time but they aren't quite up to Pride and Prejudice. (Hee, hee) That's what I wanted to hear. So, my wonderful husband indulged me. He sat down on the couch next to me and I closed my eyes while he read. It was really so nice to enjoy a book in this way. And, yes, I think he enjoyed it too. (Liz, Jeff will kill me if you share this with Peter-I can almost hear him making a joke from VT. Likewise for you Steven ;0) Hopefully he'll read a few more chapters to me today!

  4. Wow, what a super sweet hubby! I don't think my hubby would EVER read to me, even from the newspaper.
