We also learned about the Abenaki (the local Native Americans). J and B did quite a good job identifying these fur pelts.
We learned that Vermont children used to help out a lot with chores. They often carried two heavy buckets of water(can't remember if it was 30 or 50 lbs. I think 30. Do you see a trend with my memory!) B is trying to lift just one of them. Those kids must have been strong! And J and B sent a telegraph.
J loved the museum. B kept saying he was bored. But, that's typical for B. If he can't run around, it's boring. Although when his dad asked him how the museum was he said, "Awesome!" Go figure.
We also met my husband for lunch (Mexican-yum, yum). And then the kids ran off to the neighbor's when we got home. It's 8:15 now and they're off riding bikes and plasma cars. Have you ever gone on a plasma car? They are a lot of fun. B went down our street on one with my husband close behind. I almost died. We live on a small hill and he flew down!!! I can see him out the window-looks like he survived. Goodnight!
I'm not even sure what a plasma car is. I will have to look that up. A creek full of tadpoles on the 13th? Envious!
ReplyDeleteYour little ones make me laugh all the time, it looks like your family really has good times together. It's great to see!
-Lisa :)
Looks like a fun museum!
ReplyDeleteOh, my boys love anything fast...I can only imagine a plasma car going downhill!!! Wheeeeeeeeeee. :)
Gotta look up plasma cars... if it goes fast and has wheels Owen will love it.
ReplyDeleteLove your kids poses at the museum... they are so cute :0)
Sounds like a great museum! I love the shot of B struggling with the water pail. :) I would have died watching my kids zoom down a hill in a plasma car. Just the skateboard has taken a few years off my life, I think.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see you got out of town! Love the water pail picture, and the catamount. I've never even heard of this museum! We should make some sort of goal about visiting all VT museums. I am sure there are more "little" museums around, for instance, the Middlebury Art Museum, Snowflake Bentley and the Norman Rockwell Museum!
ReplyDeleteStay cool.....
